oikos Alumni - 03. March 2010

Meet the founders of Veja and other great social entrepreneurs!

At the Jump Start Seminar in Reims on Sunday March 28, meet and discuss with people like François Morillion, founder of Veja, and Sophie Keller, from ESSEC's social incubator.

oikos Alumni will lead you through a session where you will learn how to become a social enterpreneur. With Jump Start, you will get in touch with success stories, get to know your own stengths and develop a first biz idea for your possible own start-up. Be part of it!

If you want to combine change-making with a great career, you might get frustrated when looking at existing jobs offers. But have you ever thought of starting your own enterprise with a social/ environmental purpose? And if that is really not what you’re up for, what about making change within a big corporation and become an intrapreneur?

Jump Start opens your horizon into the possibilities of becoming an entrepreneur for sustainability. With this seminar, you will be empowered to realise your potential for starting up your organisation after or while finishing your university career. You will learn:

  1. On a general level: how it works to set up a commercial venture or non-profit organisation that promotes sustainability. You will learn how to think in an entrepreneurial way and balance a social mission with the start-up realities.
  2. On a personal level: to be aware of your skills, interests, network and area of impact. You will realise that there is an individual path for everyone to think beyond the mainstream employment careers.

The methodology of the workshop will be designed in a mixture of input, interaction and personal creative work:
• Input/ Presentation
• Short movies/ Story telling/ Case studies
• Group work
• Preparing biz ideas
• Free fall writing
• Elevator Pitch

Check the website of Veja to get an impression of what they do!

For those who are mostly interested in intrapreneurship, please register since Jump Start offers you insights in both intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship with the main focus on entrepreneurship. The seminar will take place on Sunday March 28 from 10-18 o’clock.

Please note:

We charge a small fee of € 25 to secure speakers and lunch. Places are limited so register in time! Email Kim with your CV and a short motivation of why you want to attend and which track you would like to join.
