Hi everyone!
Holding a Master’s degree from Seoul National University’s School of Environment Management and Planning in Korea, I am pursuing a Ph. D. degree in Environmental Science and Policy at the George Mason University with a specific research interest in sustainable enterprises and corporate environmental strategies on climate change.
Before beginning my Ph.D. study, I had worked for the Ministry of Environment in Republic of Korea as a policy publicity officer. As a part of my job to communicate environmental policies to the public and opinion leaders, I closely monitored how policies could drive changes in consumer and corporate behavior. I also worked for the Carbon Finance Assist Unit at the World Bank during recent several months. This enabled me to investigate how international climate change policy, particularly Kyoto Protocol, impacts market strategies and thus lead to corporate engagement in the emerging carbon market. Based on these experiences, I am particularly interested in how climate change policy impacts the corporate strategies to address climate change and inversely, how and why companies heterogeneously respond to climate change policy.
In my freetime, I enjoy going to the park or going to downtown Washington D.C. with my family. Singing as a member of church choir is another vital element for my life. I am really looking forward to seeing you this summer and getting intellectual stimulus from all of you. See you then.
