I am pursuing a PhD program in Innovation Studies and Development at United Nations University (UNU-MERIT), the Netherlands. Prior to coming to Holland I was in Sweden for doing a M.Sc study in Management and Economics of Innovation at Chalmers University of Technology, later there I worked for research center RIDE (R&D, Innovation and Dynamics of Economics). In my home country, Iran, I completed a B.Sc in Industrial Engineering.

Having a background in innovation studies and acquaintance with "bottom of the pyramid" debates triggered me to focus my PhD research on "Innovation for Development", i.e how innovation-related processes can be utilized/adapted for serving low-income communities. More specifically I look at the strategies of multinational corporations that are engaged in projects for low-income markets.

Is there life after PhD?! Well, I think this is probably the case. So I follow some extracurricular interests in parallel with studies! Swimming and football are indispensable parts of it, and when I'm neither floating in the water nor running in the field, I'd love to travel around and get to know various cultures across the world. I had the chance to be in St.Gallen during the oikos winter school 2005, the warmth of the Oikos community made the Swiss winter a breeze. Imagine how it would be in a summer school! looking forwards to seeing in St.Gallen.
