Hello Everyone!

My name is Moriah and I am from Miami, Florida, USA. After studying Economics & Latin American Studies at UCLA and getting an MBA in Entrepreneurship at NYU, I joined the Department of Management & International Business at Florida International University as a Phd Student. 

 

Prior to academia, I worked in microfinance for several organizations including the United Nations, Technoserve, and ACCION New York.  Before my dedication to social issues became a full-time passion, I worked in conventional finance in Latin American Equity Research and at a hedge fund.

 

My PhD research focuses on the link between social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility, primarily in the context of Latin America.  I am particularly interested in better understanding the strategies of social entrepreneurs and the role of partnerships with corporations in this process.  I am currently in the process of developing conceptual and empirical models to better understand these relationships.

 

I’m passionate about travel and have lived in many countries including Venezuela, Mexico, Germany, Brazil and Argentina. I love swimming, dancing, the sun, as well as spending time with my husband, family and friends.
