The oikos Winter School is an annual platform for international students committed to fighting the social, economic and ecologic challenges around the globe. As a catalyst of innovative solutions the last eight Winter Schools have inspired about 170 students from more than 25 nations and strengthened their belief in a 100% sustainable future. Speakers as the Nobel Prize winner George Akerlof, Stuart Hart of Ivy League University Cornell, the SEKEM Group Founder and Alternative Nobel Prize laureate Ibrahim Abouleish and representatives of WWF, the Worldbank, McKinsey & Company empowered the participants to take their own steps towards a world that we have reason to value.
Now, for the 9th time the Winter School will enable 25 selected, international students to act sustainably and embrace social entrepreneurship. In a weeklong series of workshops, lectures, networking and insights on social enterprises, the participants will be provided with skills that empower to think in global and holistic contexts and accomplish their projects as to make a positive impact on their social environments. Lectures about future mega trends, future technological possibilities and institutional evolution provide problem solving perspectives and shape visions of change. Individual success stories and global visions inspire the participants to think ahead and act on behalf of sustainability. Workshops on innovative design thinking, strategic planning including social media marketing, networking and decision-making-processes empower and enable the participants to set up their projects.
