Manufacturing the Future: Prospects for Sustainable Production and Consumption
The oikos Spring Meeting 2008 took place in Cologne from April, 24 to 27. It brought together around 90 oikos students from all over the world. "The best Meeting I ever had", says Alexis Angot from oikos Paris who has already participated in seven oikos bi-annual Meetings. (Have a look at photos and feedback.)
Participants developed their skills in special oikos workshops, broadened and deepened their network and decided on legal oikos matters during the Legislative Meeting.
The meeting focused on the topic of "Manufacturing the Future - Prospects for Sustainable Production and Consumption".
Through speeches, a panel discussion of experts in the field and a Case Study Competition on the development of bio-plastics (in cooperation with BASF) and on the influence of water scarcity on a consumer goods company (in cooperation with Henkel), the participants approached the topic from different perspectives.
The lectures and the panel discussion were open for all students of the University of Cologne and other interested people.
