oikos PhD Fellowship Programme

Selection Process

In Winter 2009, oikos will award one Fellowship for the three year period starting in February 2009 and ending in January 2012.

Applicants must fulfill certain requirements to be accepted as a doctoral student at the University of St. Gallen.

To be admitted to the Programme, students need to have a Master's or Licentiate's Degree (Diploma) in Business Studies or Economics or equivalent.  Selection of oikos Fellows is based on a combination of the following criteria:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Evidence of leadership capacity and the potential for further growth
  • A demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of sustainability issues
  • Qualification and motivation to take project responsibilities within oikos throughout the PhD

Applications will be evaluated by members of the Academic Advisory Board and active oikos members. Top candidates will be invited to St. Gallen for interviews by mid October 2008. The oikos board of trustees will make the final selection.
