About the oikos Conference 2007

Limits to growth - growing beyond limits?

18./19. October 2007

St.Gallen, Switzerland

The oikos Conference 2007 focused on growth and sustainability.

20 years after the Brundtland report “Our common future” and its impact on the sustainability debate, growth is still the dominating principle in today’s global economy. Why, where, what and how do we want to grow?

The conference, celebrating 20 years of oikos,  comprised speeches, panel discussions, workshops, an open space session as well as a fair of local oikos chapters.

The conference design empowered students to set up own projects and to contribute to the knowledge base of the oikos network.

We will monitor the outcome and report on the number and contents of projects.

Prof. Dr. Bernard A. Lietaer, Naropa University Boulder (CO), USA, oikos Conference speaker 2006

"I congratulate the students to this oikos Conference. They are real catalysts for sustainable economics and help promote business models by integrating economic and ecological aspects."
