We are pleased to announce the publication of: Case Studies in Sustainability Management and Strategy: The oikos Collection. This 320 page textbook is based on the winning cases of the international oikos Case Writing Competition.

oikos celebrates its 20th birthday this year. Therefore oikos St.Gallen, the founding chapter, invited oikos students from all over the world to this years' Autumn Meeting. 20 years after the foundation of oikos St.Gallen oikos today is an international organisation with 20 chapters in 15 countries. The organising team of the oikos Model WTO 2008 announces the dates of the next simulation in St.Gallen. From 4th – 9th May 2008 oikos St.Gallen invites 60 Students to participate in the Model WTO. The program as well as the committees and countries selected by the team will be announced soon. The last day of the simulation game will as always take place in Geneva at the WTO headquarters.

Student teams from eight countries applied for the oikos Award for Student Entrepreneurship in Higher Education. The winning project will be announced on November 20 at the oikos Winter School 2007, University of Witten/Herdecke (Germany). 

The submission deadline for the 2007 oikos Award for Student Entrepreneurship was September 30, 2007:  We received applications from eight countries.

The winning project will be presented on November 20 at the oikos Winter School. The next Call for Projects 2008 will be online in February 2008. We look forward receiving your application.

Katharina Beck has been elected President of oikos International for 2008. Unanimously the oikos Local Chapter Presidents elected her at the Legislative Meeting on 8 July. Katharina is a member of the oikos Cologne since March 2006. In Cologne she organised and moderated evening lectures on sustainability issues. Nina Hug (1982) was appointed as oikos PhD fellow in September 2007 and will start her PhD studies in February 2008. Ninas research focus is on the management of Non Profit Organisations.

The oikos Winter School is an annual platform to empower agents for change. The event brings together 20 highly motivated students from around the world in an interactive learning environment on Sustainable Economics and Management. The programme comprises lectures, discussions and working groups on sustainability challenges. Application deadline: August 3rd, 2007
