"Fighting poverty and the role of the German development policy"

Policy makers from all over the world have agreed on ambitious goals for global poverty reduction till 2015 in form of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). 2008 is halftime for reaching the goals – so how is the progress towards the goals, which role can the German development cooperation play, and with whom shall she collaborate? Prof. Dr. Winfried Pinger, former speaker for development issues of the German conservative party in the Federal Parliament and founder of the Aktion 2015 initiative, and Dr. Wolfram Klein from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development will explore answers to these questions in two public speeches with a subsequent discussion round.

The event is held in German language.
