
Shailee Pradhan (1982) started her PhD in Economics and Finance in February 2011, supervised by Prof. Simon Evenett. Her research interests include international trade, migration, and development. At oikos, she is managing the oikos Young Scholars Economics Academy and blogging.
Shailee holds an MA in Law and Diplomacy as a Fletcher Board of Overseers Scholar from The Fletcher School and an MS in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University’s School of Nutrition and Policy. She received her BA in Mathematics-Economics magna cum laude from Agnes Scott College, Atlanta.
Prior to oikos, Shailee worked at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, in the School of Environment, Resources, and Development. She has also worked at The Asia Foundation (USA) in their Economic Reform and Development Program, Plan International (Thailand), MicroLoan Foundation (Malawi), Winrock International (Nepal), and the Integrated Development Foundation (Bangladesh).
Shailee enjoys reading historical fiction; kitchen-dancing; cheese-tasting; printmaking; and trekking. She was born and raised in Nepal.
